New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo has some learning to do, but not on the baseball field following his attempts in the kitchen.

After eating some raw chicken on Tuesday, Nimmo was forced to miss Wednesday's 14-6 win over the Miami Marlins.

Mets manager Mickey Callaway told reporters: "He cooked some chicken and didn't know how to cook, so he was throwing up all night.

"We have to teach him how to cook so he doesn’t miss any more games."

Nimmo, 25, came into his own last MLB season when he started the majority of the year in the outfield for the Mets.

The 2011 first-round pick was a borderline All-Star batting .263 with 17 home runs and 47 RBIs while posting a .404 on-base percentage.
