Seven Carolina Mudcats players and one team trainer were transported to a nearby hospital when the team's bus flipped on its side during a wreck in Columbus County, N.C., early Tuesday morning.
The Braves' Single-A affiliate squad left Salem, Va., Monday night following their 3-1 victory over the Salem Red Sox and were heading to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to take on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Tuesday night when the the wreck occurred on Clarendon Chadbourn road, according to Kay Worley, the county's emergency services director.
