Andrew McCutchen will be at Yankee Stadium for Saturday's game against the Tigers, sporting a new look for his new team.
The outfielder, acquired from the Giants Friday in a trade for two prospects and cash, posted a picture of himself Friday on social media, showing a freshly shaven face. It's not quite as big a deal as when he shaved off his trademark dreadlocks a few years back, but the veteran is clearly excited to be joining a championship contender.
“Just gonna take me a sec to get used to my freshly shaved face. Other than that ... let’s go!” the outfielder tweeted.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone is likewise revved to add the outfielder into the Yankees' mix. While not the elite player he was in winning the 2013 NL MVP award with the Pirates, McCutchen brings a veteran presence to the team and adds depth. He has 15 home runs and a .772 OPS this season in 130 games.
Boone told reporters Friday McCutchen's "reputation precedes him."
“I think it’s exciting for us,” Boone said. “Just looking forward to him getting here tomorrow and hopefully putting him in the lineup and seeing him help us.
“This is as high character a person as we have in our game and I know he’ll fit well in our room.”
McCutchen will be especially valuable as Aaron Judge continues to be sidelined with a broken wrist.
