Ash Barty is set to break into the top 10 of the WTA rankings for the first time once the points have been updated following the Miami Open.
Currently 11th in the world, Barty is looking to become the first Aussie since Sam Stosur in 2013 to be ranked amoung the top 10 tennis players in the world.
Lleyton Hewitt was the last Australian male in the ATP top 10 in 2006.
Barty's appearance in the quarter-finals of the Miami Open should be enough to see the 22-year-old climb to another career-high ranking.

The only thing that could stop her would be if China's Qiang Wang were to win the whole tournament.
Ranked 18th in the world, Wang has two career titles to her name and takes on world number three Simona Halep in the quarters.
Barty can secure a spot in the top 10 by beating Petra Kvitova in Wednesday's quarter-final.
World number three Kvitova has four wins from four matches against Barty, including the Australian Open and Sydney Open in January this year.
Their showdown in the final of the Sydney International was one of the matches of the summer, with Kvitova coming from behind to claim a 1-6 7-5 7-6(3) victory.
Barty has beaten Dayana Yastremska, Sam Stosur and Kiki Bertens on the way to the last eight in Miami.
The two-time Newcombe Medal winner has enjoyed a meteoric rise up the rankings since returning to tennis from a brief stint in cricket.
Barty ended 2016 ranked 325 in the world, before climbing to 17th at the end of 2017.
The Queenslander reached a then-career high of 15th in 2018 and has jumped four places in the first three months of 2019.
In January, Barty told Sporting News that one of her main goals for 2019 was to break into the top 10 of the rankings.
