There have been countless moments in the 74-year history of the NBA that stand the test of the time; performances and achievements that will never be forgotten.

Throughout the season, we'll take you back in time to relive some of the best moments from the past.

This week in NBA history for the week of January 20-26:

January 22, 2006: Kobe Bryant erupts for a career-high 81

On Championship Sunday (National Football League Conference Championships), Kobe Bryant ensured he shared some of that spotlight. He erupted for the second-highest single-game scoring total by any player ever - 81 (28-of-46 FG's; 7-13 3P's; 18-20 FT's).

He single-handedly outscored the Raptors in the second half 55-41 and brought the Lakers back from an 18-point third-quarter deficit to win by 18 (122-104) .

January 23, 2015: Klay Thompson's NBA record 37-point quarter

The 2014-15 season was a special one for Klay Thompson and it began with his 52-point showing, which included an NBA record 37-point third quarter.

He set and still holds the records for most points in a single quarter (37), most field goals made in a quarter (13 - tied 1st), and most 3-point field goals in a quarter (9).

Here's a look at his shot chart in the third quarter (yes, no misses):

Thompson was soon named an All-Star for the first time in his career and later that season, he was a key member of the 2014-15 Warriors championship team.

January 23, 2018: LeBron crosses 30K landmark

On this date in 2018, LeBron James, in San Antonio, became the seventh player in NBA history to cross the 30,000 points plateau. At 33 years and 24 days, he was the youngest to get there, beating Kobe Bryant's record of 34 years and 104 days.

The King is the youngest player to reach every points milestone from 1,000 to 33,000.

January 23, 2019: James Harden drops career-high 61 at MSG

James Harden has had plenty of record-breaking games against the New York Knicks. His 50-point triple-double came on New Year's eve in 2016 and in the 2018-19 season, Harden recorded a new career-high with 61 at the Mecca of Basketball - Madison Square Garden.

It was his 21st straight game of scoring 30 or more. He went on to score 30 or more in 32 straight games - the second longest such streak in NBA history.

January 22, 2018: DeMarcus Cousins' monster triple-double

This game was one of the last DeMarcus Cousins played before injuries have taken away a majority of his last two years.

In a double-overtime win over the Chicago Bulls, Cousins recorded one of the best stat lines ever: a 40-20-10. Playing 51 minutes, Cousins finished with 44 points, 23 rebounds, and 10 assists.

He also recorded four steals. In a four-point win, he was a +13 in his 52 minutes of playing time.

January 24, 2014: Carmelo Anthony scores career-high 62

Carmelo Anthony's super-efficient 62 point (23-35 FG's; 6-11 3P's) performance against the Charlotte Bobcats was a Knicks franchise record, a career-high, and the most scored by any player at Madison Square Garden.

January 26, 2007: Jamal Crawford's career-high 52

Jamal Crawford is the only player in NBA history to have registered 50-point games with four different franchises. The first of those came nearly a decade ago for the New York Knicks against the Miami Heat.

It was an efficient 52 points that came at a shooting clip of 66.7% (20-30) from the field and 8-of-10 from beyond the arc.
