According to Fairfax Media, an arrangement is in the works to ship Robbie Farah off to the UK in return of utility back Zak Hardaker.
Leeds are keen on landing an Aussie marquee, and have already approached the likes of James Segeyaro and Mitch Rein.
However, it is said that Farah's management team along with that of Leeds are negotiating terms through which a deal can be finalised.
While the Origin representative is contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2017 and a one million dollar pay-day awaits, another year of Taylor-Farah turmoil may just drive the club to breaking point and the deal could be of benefit to both parties.
The Tigers' winning record is better without Farah and the 32-year-old can barely manage a start, so it makes sense from a club level to ship him abroad.
Similarly, Hardaker is under contract with Leeds but is looking for a change of scenery after a difficult start to the Super League season.
Hardaker's manager, Craig Harrison likens his client to Josh Dugan and stresses their are plenty of ways a deal can be finalised.
"Zach's biggest asset, without a doubt, is defence, he's massive on defence," Harrison told Fairfax Media.
"There are different ways to do a deal, there's... player exchanges. I'm sure Leeds are looking for players in different areas, so that could be of interest."
"You could look to defer payments, take a bit less on the first year and put that into a pot as part of a fee.
"If you get around the table, I'm confident and Leeds are confident it could work for other clubs. If you look at it as 300 [pounds], yes, I'm sure it will have an effect. The guys at your end are more experienced at this. There's always a deal."
Hardaker who is capable of playing at fullback, centre and on the wing made headlines in 2014 after directing homophobic comments at Australian Michael Monaghan during a match.
