Wayne Bennett is reportedly keen on nabbing the Morris twins and Trent Hodkinson for his English side ahead of the 2016 Four Nations series.

All three players are qualified to represent England through family ties, and while Brett Morris claims he hasn't been formally approached by Bennett, he is unwilling to rule out a switch of allegiances.

“There’s been no chat between Wayne and us about that. We are eligible to play for England through our grandad and our mother lived in England until she was 13-years-old,” Morris said.

“There is that option but it’s not something we’ve looked into seriously at all.”

Despite having made 18 appearances for Australia, Morris has the ability to swap nations under Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) policy.

Players are granted the option of switching national allegiances every two years or between World Cups. However, State of Origin eligiblity is nullified for those who do so.

Quizzed on the possibility of donning an English jersey and belting out God Save the Queen, Morris chose his words carefully.

“I don’t even know the answer," he said.

“To me, I haven’t even thought about it, it’s something that’s completely left field. But you’ve always got to keep your options open.”

Reports indicate that Bennett has met with several other Australian players with English heritage about the possibility of representing his side.
