NSW halfback Adam Reynolds has declared he’s a good chance to return for Origin III despite being all-but ruled out by coach Laurie Daley after Game 2.

The diminutive number seven suffered a suspected shoulder injury in the second half of Blues’ 26-16 loss on Wednesday night and was unable to continue.

His series looked over but the South Sydney star has reportedly been cleared of a serious shoulder injury.

Scans revealed Reynolds has two slipped discs in his neck and the Blues playmaker is eyeing a return for the Bunnies against North Queensland next Saturday.

If Reynolds can get through the Cowboys clash he is almost certain to retain his spot for Origin III on July 13.

“The initial thoughts weren’t too good, the doctors assessed it on the night and there was a fair bit of pain there,’’ Reynolds told The Saturday Telegraph.

“I’m definitely relieved it’s nothing too serious.

“There was some wear and tear on the shoulder, and two slipped discs in the neck.

“There will be no surgery on the shoulder and now it’s about getting it right and making sure I’m fully confident going out and playing footy.

“Hopefully it settles down in the next week.’’
