Sharks fans will be breathing easier after captain Paul Gallen wasn’t charged by the MRC, following a scuffle with Jake Friend during Cronulla’s 37-12 win on Saturday night.

In Michael Ennis’ last match at Southern Cross Group Stadium, Gallen was involved in a stoush with Roosters hooker Jake Friend in the 33rd minute.
Watch the incident in the player above.
After a loose carry from Gallen, Friend took a heavy-handed approach to the standard hair-tousling that has infected the greatest game of all.
Gallen took exception to the move, upended Friend and then it was on.
Well, on in the sense of jersey-pulling and very stern words exchanged.
The incident is similar to a dangerous throw charge handed out to Penrith’s Tyrone Peachey last year in round nine.
Peachey pled guilty for putting Adam Blair on his head and received a two-week suspension.
While both tackles were committed when the ball was dead, Peachey’s appears to be more severe.
With no judiciary charges from the weekend, Cronulla head into Saturday’s minor premiership decider against the Storm at full strength.
