The Cowboys and Bulldogs round 20 battle for third position just got spicier with Lachlan Coote and Kyle Felt both looking at suspensions stemming from the Cowboys’ 26-12 loss to the Raiders Monday night.

The NRL match review committee charged Coote with a grade one contrary conduct for making contact with referee Grant Atkins, which will see the Cowboys fullback serve a one match ban.

Feldt’s 80th minute shoulder charge on Jarrod Crocker has been deemed a grade three offence, with the winger to miss three matches with an early plea and up to a five-week suspension if he unsuccessfully challenges the charge at the judiciary.

With the Bulldogs and Cowboys both having the bye this week, the first game the Cowboys duo can serve their suspensions is the Thursday night game against the Bulldogs – equal on points with the Cowboys but in fourth on points difference.

The two top four sides are yet to face each other in 2016, with their second match-up set for round 25 at Belmore.
