NRL veteran Michael Gordon has signed a one-year contract extension with the Sydney Roosters which will keep him at the club until the end of 2018.

With Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco set to arrive at the Roosters next year, there was speculation that as the club's current fullback, Gordon would go the opposite way.
But instead, the 33-year-old has committed himself to another year in Sydney despite the fact he'll likely be booted out of his preferred position.
Having played 219 NRL games to date, Gordon's experience would well be key in moulding what's shaping to be a dangerous Roosters outfit with coach Trent Robinson pleased to have secured his services for at least another season.
"Michael’s class and experience has been a welcome addition to our squad this year,” Robinson told the Roosters website.
"Michael has brought a selflessness to the group, and consistently makes an integral contribution to our side.
"Aside from his on-field role, Michael is also a very good man, and its great news for our club to have him locked in to our plans for next season.”
A former Parramatta and Penrith player, Gordon couldn't resist the lure of another season at his fourth NRL club.
"Since day one, everyone at the Roosters has made me and my family feel welcome and at home, so that’s a big reason I’m pleased to be extending my time here,” Gordon said.
"From a footy perspective, I still feel like the body is really good and I've got something to offer.
"I’m enjoying my footy and being part of the team here at the Roosters.”
