WATCH: Kieran Foran kicks conversion under the crossbar from in front image

Canterbury Bulldogs halfback Kieran Foran has just put his name down in history for the wrong reasons after missing the unmissable conversion against South Sydney.

After knocking over a difficult kick from the left-hand touchline after the Bulldogs' first try, a conversion from right in front should be something Foran could do with his eyes closed.

Well, so we thought.

As Foran took the conversion, 10 metres out, dead in front, he kicked the ball below the crossbar.

It left the crowd shocked, fans at home stunned and sent social media into hysterics.

The Bulldogs' new signing was forced to take over the goalkicking duties as Moses Mbye failed his HIA test after being taken off in the opening moments of the game.

Now, while Foran is no Daryl Halligan or Hazem El-Masri, most people would have backed the 27-year-old to knock over the conversion.

The Bulldogs were first to open the scoring off a Jeremy Marshall-King cross-field kick with Brett Morris leaping into the air and tapping it back to his brother Josh to score.

Foran then knocked over a penalty goal before the Morris brothers combined off a short side play to give Josh his second of the afternoon.

The Bunnies hit back through a barnstorming run from centre and superstar Greg Inglis as he brushed off three blue and white jerseys to cross for Souths' first try of the day.

Foran made up for his uncharacteristic miss by knocking over a penalty goal from almost the same position.

At half-time the Bulldogs lead 14-6.
