Jamie Lyon could end his career just short of the 300-game mark, with a hamstring injury likely ruling him out for several weeks.

Sunday’s loss to Canberra was the 289th NRL game of Lyon’s career, notching up a handy 63 per cent winning percentage, but if he’s to miss only two weeks, as the Sea Eagles injury update on Monday afternoon claims, he won’t be able to miss any further games, notching up game 300 in round 26 against the Panthers.
Lyon’s injury was initially thought to keep him off the field for four weeks, leaving the centre/five-eighth painfully close to the 300 club.
Of course, the Sea Eagles could potentially play finals footy, assuming they crack the hypothetical 28 competition points barrier with an eight wins from 12 games run.
That’s not looking likely at the moment, though.
Sea Eagles players wouldn’t have been too surprised to arrive at training Monday morning to see their field under water – it’s just been that kind of week.
After their fourth-straight loss on Sunday, a costly 30-18 defeat to Canberra, the Sea Eagles now sit in 13th position, with Steve Matai ruled out indefinitely with a neck injury, Daly Cherry-Evans suffering an ankle injury which will keep him on the sidelines for a month and Brenton Lawrence’s season potentially over, pending scans on a ruptured pectoral muscle.
If Lyon can stay on the field, he’ll join former Manly stalwarts Steve Menzies, Cliff Lyons, Geoff Gerard, Brent Kite and Brett Kimmorley (if you count the Northern Eagles) in the 300 club.
