Leigh forward Jamie Acton is facing a minimum eight-week ban after committing a cowardly act on Australian Greg Bird in the Super League.

During a heated affair between the Centurions and Catalans, Bird was knocked out cold after a heavy collision with Leigh halfback Ben Reynolds, and Acton couldn't resist rubbing salt into his wounds in pretty despicable fashion.
Acton, who has already been charged three other times this season, has copped a Grade F charge for 'other contrary behaviour' as a result of the incident and is facing at least eight weeks on the sidelines.
In a fierce encounter that saw the Catalans go on to win 40-36, Bird, a former Sharks and Titans player, was himself also charged for punching.
