After what many perceived to be a cowardly and unnecessary follow-up tackle on the Broncos Jonus Pearson, Eels forward Kenny Edwards has tried to defend his actions.

Despite both him and teammate Nathan Brown both not being put on report for their equally controversial hits on Pearson, Edwards in particular couldn't escape a chorus of social media criticism after the incident late in the first half which you can see for yourselves below.
With former player Braith Anasta labelling Edwards 'stupid' for the act and Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett declaring it creates a bad look for the NRL post-game, the Parramatta forward had some explaining to do.
"Simply, I didn't think the tackle was complete," Edwards said.
"I didn't see the high shot Browny put on until afterwards.
"I just went in hard like I always do.
"Unfortunately Browny hit him high, which I didn't see.
"I saw the replay and if I could go back I wouldn't do it again."
Though remorseful, Edwards' and the Eels general aggression in the match would prove too much for the Broncos to handle as Parramatta secured a 28-14 win.
Having trailed 12-0 after just eight minutes, the Eels come from behind win now sees them sitting sixth with a long-awaited finals birth looking increasingly likely.
Parramatta next face the Bulldogs on Thursday as they look to claim a sixth win in a row and inflict a third straight loss on Des Hasler's side.
Brisbane on the other hand face an interstate clash with the Titans as they attempt to adjust to life without Andrew McCullough who could be out for the season after picking up an injury against the Eels.
