Tasked with protecting Blues five-eighth – and former teammate – James Maloney, Cordner’s absence in the team could pave the way for a return for veteran enforcer Beau Scott.
The Blues could also bring in perennial 18th man, St-George Illawarra’s Tyson Frizell, or opt for some spark in Bryce Cartwright or the utility value of Wade Graham.
The Roosters face the Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Allianz stadium.
