Though Cordner is doing everything he can to be fit, Laurie Daley is hesistant to make a call on his skipper and has turned to Finucane just in case.
The 25-year-old Melbourne forward is yet to pull on a Blues jersey but has played four games for NSW Country and joins the Blues camp today.
Finucane started for the Storm during their loss to the Eels on Saturday making 39 tackles and 10 runs.
"I’m really excited. I found out after the Parramatta game at about 11 o’clock (Saturday night) and came straight into camp," Finucane told NSWRL.
"To know that I’m sort of thereabouts and in the squad fills me with confidence - and I really hope the boys go well and can win on Wednesday night.
"To be here is really exciting for me and something I’m really proud of."
