Leeds Rhinos bid a fond farewell to Kevin Sinfield, Jamie Peacock and Kylie Leuluai, but the Super League champions were beaten 34-16 by New Zealand in Friday's friendly.

The fixture at Headingley was used as a way for the home faithful to pay tribute to the departing trio, who finished as treble winners in their last season at Leeds, while Adrian Morley returned to the club with whom he started his career to put the final stamp on his playing days.

Leuluai was the only one the of the departing players to play in the fixture, and he thought he had a try in the early stages before the referee blew for a forward pass from Joel Moon.

Moon - a scorer in the 22-20 Grand Final win over Wigan - opened the scoring after picking up Danny McGuire's kick, but scores from Jason Nightingale and Jordan Kahu put New Zealand 10-6 up by half-time.

A second for Moon put Rhinos back in front, however Jesse Bromwich made sure the lead was short lived after going over from close-range before Dean Whare also touched down for the Kiwis.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck then got in on the act for New Zealand, before Leeds had a third when a quick reaction to a spilled kick was finished by Tom Briscoe.

New Zealand continued to apply pressure, though, and Kodi Nikorima scored New Zealand's sixth try before Tuivasa-Sheck rounded off the win.
