New Zealand full-back Roger Tuivasa-Sheck believes their Test series defeat to England will be a learning curve for the young players in the team.
Two tries from Elliott Whitehead and one from captain Sean O'Loughlin saw England take a 20-6 lead in the series decider at the DW Stadium on Saturday.
The Kiwis, having earlier registered their first try through Jason Nightingale, battled back in the final 10 minutes with four-pointers from Tuivasa-Sheck and Jordan Kahu.
However, Issac Luke failed to convert those scores and England stood firm to hold on and seal a 2-1 series success.
Tuivasa-Sheck, who will play for the NRL's New Zealand Warriors next season after leaving Sydney Roosters, said: "The arm wrestles weren't going our way.
"We got the opportunities but we just didn't ice them. England jumped on top of theirs.
"We had a lot of opportunities to try and finish, England were good in their defence. We started to get a little bit stressed and it just didn't happen for us."
New Zealand were without several experienced players for the tour, including half-backs Shaun Johnson and Kieran Foran.
But asked about his assessment of the tour, Tuivasa-Sheck added: "[It's] definitely a missed opportunity for us, definitely a learning curve.
"As you can tell we've a lot of young players in our team, definitely good experience for them.
"I know it's the not the best way to end the tour but they'll take a lot out of this and make them better players for the future."
