Winx's doubters are few and far between and after an unprecedented fourth Cox Plate, they are even more scarce.
Chris Waller's wonder mare claimed a two-length win from Godolphin star Benbatl to make history at Moonee Valley on Saturday afternoon.
Connections of Winx were obviously delighted with the performance and part-owner Debbie Kepitis didn't miss the chance to stick it up one of her critics.
English journalist Matt Chapman caused a stir during the week when he suggested, perhaps tongue-in-cheek, that Winx wasn't facing world-class competition in Australia.
"Back home we feel Winx is beating fairly moderate horses," Chapman said.
"Slightly, this was proved in the (Caulfield Cup) result with Best Solution, when all the horses Winx had been beaten were ‘stuffed’ out of sight, although it was a completely different type of race."
Waller said Chapman was "a bit of a d***head" following those comments and Kepitis went into bat for the eight-year old following the latest Cox Plate win.
While being interviewed on Channel Seven, Kepitis spotted Chapman, who dropped to his knees and kissed Kepitis' feet.
"There's a man here that needs to apologise," Kepitis said.
"He'll probably still say 'Benbatl's not that good at home, Rostropovich (too)', he still won't think she's the world's best but by god, in my books, she is. There ya go, Matt.
"They came, we conquered. Bring on anything you want to bring here, she is amazing."
"I don't think I need to say anything, Winx has said everything we need to know," Chapman replied.
