Young jockey Michael Poy has been suspended following an embarrassing error during on Monday.
During a Monday meeting at Kyneton in Victoria, the 23-year-old seemingly forgot the distance of the race, as he went for home a lap early aboard $13 shot Dente.
The benchmark 58 race was over 2828m but with a lap to go, Poy pulled out the whip and must have thought he was about to gain an easy victory.
It wasn't until about 200 metres past the post that Poy turned around to see the remainder of the field still chasing Dente, who went on to finish eighth in the 11-horse field.
Watch the footage of Poy's blunder below.

Poy wasn't originally booked to ride Dente, only picking up the ride on raceday in replacement of Declan Bates.
Racing Victoria stewards have since handed down a two-month ban from riding, ruling him out until July 9th.

He didn't let the mishap bother him too much though, going on to win the next race on board Haystacks Calhoun.
That's how you bounce back 💪

Although it's a funny moment, let's have a moment to think of those punters who had their hard-earned coin on Dente.
