October has finally arrived, which means spring racing is about to intensify over the course of the next month.

The running of the $750,000 Group 1 Turnbull Stakes will see some of the country's best middle-distance gallopers take to Flemington Racecourse in a high-profile set-weights event on October 7th.

Smokin Romans took out last year's race, while other past winners include Verry Elleegant, Winx and Sunline.
