This year's Melbourne Cup promises to be one of the most exciting in recent memory, with some quality horses from across the globe competing and plenty of storylines heading into the race.

Gold Trip will be back to defend his crown after an impressive victory last year, while overseas raider Vauban has garnered plenty of attention after a promising career in Europe.

The form of Without A Fight - who took out the Caulfield Cup last month - has seen the six-year-old receive plenty of support in betting, with the likes of Soulcombe and Absurde not far behind.

Who is riding Vauban in 2023 Melbourne Cup?

The multi-time Group 1 winner will come into the race with plenty of hype and will be aided by the booking of experienced English jockey Ryan Moore in the saddle or the 3200m trip on Tuesday. 

Who is riding Gold Trip in 2023 Melbourne Cup? 

After taking out last year's event in impressive fashion, the Maher/Eustace-trained gelding will have a shock change for Flemington, with superstar jockey James McDonald chasing his second Melbourne Cup. 

Who is riding Without A Fight in 2023 Melbourne Cup?

One of the biggest storylines heading into this year's Cup is the fact that last year's winner - Mark Zahra - has opted to change his ride from 2022 and will instead be on the recent Caulfield Cup winner.
