Arcadia Queen has stormed home to claim the Mackinnon Stakes on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival.

Looking to bounce back after a disappointing Cox Plate run, the favourite found himself three wide and in last place as they entered the straight.

However, the Western Australian mare would storm past its rivals in the last 300 metres, finishing ahead of Fifty Stars and Melody Belle.

It's caps off a solid carnival for Arcadia Queen, who took home the Caulfied Stakes in October.

Stepping up for regular jockey William Pike, who had already headed back to Western Australia, Luke Currie was full of praise for the five-year-old after the dominant run.

"She is a weapon," he said post-race.

"A bit busy, a bit going on earlier. Just needs to take her time, sit back. She didn't go overly hard. She can chuck on a little bit.

"So was a bit mindful to start her, but I spoke to Willie Pike the other day and he said it doesn't matter where she is, she can come up and take them.

She got in three way with cover line and slowly working forward, which worked out perfect for her.

"I would like to thank Mr Peters and grandma Lana for giving me the opportunity today, and Willie Pike thanks very much. I owe you a beer. I know you don't drink, so probably a Red Bull."

The race was pushed back an hour after a TAB outage caused carnage across the country.

The technical issue caused delays across the country, with the meeting at Morphettville forced to be postponed until Monday.
