Nine-time Group 1 winner Anamoe has retired to stud.
The champion four-year-old enjoyed an impressive autumn carnival in Sydney, taking out both the G1 Chipping Norton Stakes and G1 George Ryder Stakes.
The Godolphin-trained superstar fell short in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes and despite rumours of a potential trip to Royal Ascot later this year, connections have made the decision to send him to Darley stud later this year.
Anamoe won 14 of 25 career starts, including a breathtaking performance in last year's Cox Plate, and earned plenty of admirers over its successful tenure in Australia.
“Our team is proud of all he has achieved during his racing career," trainer James Cummings said.
"He has never let us down and has been there for us at every start. We wish him all the best in his retirement and we can’t wait to seeing his progeny coming through the stables in the years to come.
“It has been an immense honour and privilege for our team to care for Anamoe and guide him through his racing career.
"His health has always been our top priority and we take great pride in retiring him in such excellent condition.”

Anamoe will retire as Godolphin's greatest-ever Group 1 horse and managing director Vin Cox paid tribute following the bittersweet announcement.
“It is bittersweet to see Anamoe retire from the racetrack," he said.
"As an iconic figure for Godolphin and the world of horseracing, he leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten and he has nothing more to prove.”
"The trifecta of performance, pedigree, and attitude are the most critical factors breeders consider and he possesses them all in spades.
"As he embarks on his new journey on the prestigious Darley roster, there’s no doubt that he is the most sought after and exceptional stallion Australia has ever seen.”
