Golden Rose 2022 Tips
At what will likely be a soft or heavy track at Rosehill, In Secret ($2.70) is the overwhelming favourite and all the money is with her following an impressive win in the G2 Run To The Rose a fortnight ago.
In four career starts, the Godolphin filly has won three and placed in another, but will be taking on some more experienced and high-profile gallopers in this race. In her favour however is the likely rain around in Sydney, with an impressive early record on soft and heavy going.
Elsewhere at single-figure odds, fellow Godolphin runner Golden Mile ($6) looks a solid chance after winning the G3 Ming Dynasty Quality Stakes recently. The colt is third-up and should be peaking for this race, and has a good record on soft going early in his career. With Sam Clipperton in the saddle, he looks the best chance to knock off the stablemate favourite.
Jacquinot ($7.50) also has a win this preparation but hasn't raced for four weeks and will be travelling up from Victoria.
Golden Slipper winner Fireburn ($9) finished a disappointing fifth upon return in the G2 Run To The Rose and will have to overcome the widest barrier. She's Extreme ($9) is on the same line of betting and finished third in her on a heavy track at Randwick three weeks ago.
Final Tip: Golden Mile ($6 win/$2.20 place with TAB)
