The east coast’s big wet has claimed the remainder of the Randwick race meeting on Saturday following jockey concerns during race six.

Rain was a hot topic leading up to Silver Eagle Day, with the decision to call off the event made with four races remaining.

Already rated a heavy 10 at the start of the day on the back of a continued deluge, more rain continued to hammer Sydney, adding to the tricky conditions.

The track had a clear on-pace bias and riders had begun seeking better ground off the fence as the day progressed.

Stewards made the call to postpone the meeting as jockeys spoke of visibility issues in the driving rain.

The Silver Eagle (1300m) - the sole Group 1 race at Randwick on Saturday - and the Angst Stakes (1600m) will be run as additional races on The Everest card at Randwick next Saturday.

Rain is currently not forecast for that meeting.

The Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1600m) will take place at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
