The 2022 edition of the Group 1 Cox Plate will be held on Saturday 22nd October at Moonee Valley.

Due to wet weather and lightning, Friday night's Group 1 Manikato Stakes has been moved to the Saturday.

Last year saw State Of Rest win the race in dramatic fashion, while Sir Dragonet picked up the victory in 2020.

Here's everything you need to know about the 2022 Cox Plate.

The Cox Plate was first held in 1922 and is named in honour of the founder of Moonee Valley Racecourse, William Samuel Cox.
