Royal Randwick is set to host three massive weekends of racing - and it will all start this Saturday with Day 1 of The Championships.
With four massive Group 1 races including the Doncaster Mile and TJ Smith Stakes, fans will be keen to see their favourite horses in action.
But the horses, jockeys and trainers will all have to contend with a heavy track, following weeks of heavy rain across Sydney.
To help out the Sporting News punters, we've compiled a list of the best heavy-track specialists across all 10 races on Saturday at Randwick below.
Race 1 Kindergarten Stakes - #3 Spacewalk
While not too many horses in Saturday's opener have much history on this type of surface, Spacewalk has one win from its sole start on heavy going.
Trained by James Cummings and set to be ridden by Hugh Bowman, the two-year-old colt has had four starts to date and produced one win and one placing.
Spacewalk's minor placing came on soft ground, which is also a good sign heading into a wet track at Randwick.
Rated a $7 chance with TAB, it looks a fantastic each-way bet to open proceedings given its promising early career and ability to handle the wet.
Race 2 Carbine Club Stakes - #4 Kelvedon Road
After nine career starts, Kelvedon Road has produced three wins and three placings - and plenty of its better runs have come on rain-affected ground.
The three-year-old, trained by Todd Smart, will step up in class for this race, but has been going along brilliantly.
In two starts on heavy tracks, Kelvedon Road has a win and a placing to its name. On soft tracks, he has raced four times for a win and a placing.
Rated a $16 chance with TAB, it's one of the rougher chances in the race but the wet form can not be ignored.
Race 3 Adrian Knox Stakes - #3 Achira
Another race lacking a genuine 'mudlark', Achira presents with arguably the best form and experience on rain-affected tracks.
In two starts on heavy ground, the three-year-old filly has one win. On soft tracks, just the one start without a win.
Rated an $11 chance with TAB, it could be a nice each-way play in a race that doesn't have any clear standouts on heavy tracks.
Race 4 Chairman's Quality - #1 Stockman
This may arguably be the best heavy-track runner going around at Randwick tomorrow.
Stockman has raced on heavy ground seven times during its career, producing four wins and two placings.
Trained by Joseph Pride, the five-year-old gelding is coming off an impressive run in the Group 1 Tancred Stakes, where he finished in 2nd place behind the ultra-impressive Duais.
With a little bit of early support in the market, solid lead-up form and wet-track ability to boot, Stockman looks like a really good bet at $7.50 with TAB.
Race 5 Country Championships Final - #8 Commando Hunt
In a stacked race filled with the best horses from the country regions, Commando Hunt comes into this race with the best heavy-track form.
With four stats on heavy ground, the four-year-old gelding has produced two wins and a place. To put that into perspective, his career record has just three wins in total.
Commando Hunt will also benefit from having Nash Rawiller in the saddle, one of the leading jockeys in Sydney.
Rated a $17 chance with TAB, there's every reason to believe it will factor into the finish.
Race 6 Inglis Sires' - #12 Fireburn
A convincing winner in this year's Golden Slipper, Fireburn is set to start an even-money favourite or better and there's clear reason to see why that is the case.
The two-year-old star has had five career starts, with two of those coming on heavy ground, where the filly has won both.
It looks the clear standout pick in this race at $1.95 with TAB and the heavy-track form is a major part of the overwhelming support for Fireburn.
Race 7 Australian Derby - #13 Zoumon
While not anywhere near the top of the betting market, Zoumon has the most success and experience of any runner in this race when it comes to heavy ground.
In three career starts on heavy tracks, the three-year-old gelding has two wins. Add in another four starts on soft ground for a win and a placing, and there is a compelling argument to be made for one of the roughies in Zoumon.
The combination of Gai Waterhouse and her favourite jockey Tim Clark will also be a factor, and there's been plenty of support in recent days for him.
Rated a $41 chance with TAB, punters will be licking their lips if any more rain sets in before Saturday's race.
Race 8 TJ Smith Stakes - #2 Eduardo
After defeating old sparring partner Nature Strip in its last run, Eduardo comes into this race on the second line of betting and is a huge chance of winning its first TJ Smith Stakes.
In four starts on heavy tracks, the Joseph Pride-trained gelding has three wins to its name. In another seven starts on soft ground, Eduardo has produced five wins and two placings.
This is clearly a horse that loves getting its foot into the turf and should be able to get through the Randwick track with relative ease - at least on paper, it should.
Rated a $3.90 chance with TAB, there will be plenty of punters jumping on that price and hoping Eduardo can once again defeat Nature Strip.
Race 9 Doncaster Mile - #16 Forbidden Love
The favourite in the race for a reason, Forbidden Love comes into this race with incredible form, having won three races in a row.
In those three victories, they have all come on a heavy 9 or worse. That is a fantastic sign of how the horse is travelling, and its overall career record (six starts, five wins) on heavy going is better than any horse in this race.
You can't ask for much more when it comes to form than a horse coming off three-straight victories, all of which were on heavy - but the Doncaster field is a big one and stacked with elite talent.
Forbidden Love is rated a $3.80 chance with TAB and has seen support in the two days leading up to the race.
Race 10 PJ Bell Stakes - #14 Larkspur Run
In a race that lacks horses with much wet-track experience or form, Larkspur Run has the edge when it comes to the wet ground.
In three starts on heavy tracks, the Godolphin filly has one win and one placing. In a further four starts on soft ground, she's produced one win and two placings.
At a juicy price of $41 with TAB in the final race of the day, punters could be looking at this runner to get out of jail with an each-way play.
