Jordan Spieth has moved up to number two in golf's world rankings following his dominant success at the Masters.

Spieth tied Tiger Woods' record Masters score of 18 under par to complete the first wire-to-wire victory at Augusta since 1976 and win his first major title.

The Texan's triumph saw him jump one spot behind Rory McIlroy, who finished in fourth at 12 under, leapfrogging two-time Masters winner Bubba Watson and Henrik Stenson into second.

Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson ended the tournament four strokes back at 14 under. Rose went up three spots to number eight and Mickelson rose four places to 18.

Dustin Johnson - tied sixth in Georgia - climbed from seventh to sixth and Hideki Matsuyama moved from 17th to 15th on the back of his fifth-place finish.

The English pair of Ian Poulter and Paul Casey, who were level with Johnson on nine under, both saw their ranking improve. Poulter went back in the top 30 following a five-place jump to 26 and Casey leapt from 44th to 36th.

But Woods, despite a decent showing that saw him finish five under in tied 17th, did not move back inside the top 100, rising only 10 places to 101.
