The 2024 season of the PGA Tour has been quite eventful for Scottie Scheffler. The two-time Masters champion was arrested at the PGA Championship in Kentucky after a mix-up with Louisville police, and he followed that up with the birth of his first child.
He also is playing some of the best golf the PGA Tour has seen in quite some time.
It's not exactly a surprise to see Scheffler, 27, atop the world golf rankings once again. It's familiar territory for the Texas native, who is a favorite to win every single weekend he competes at this point.
Scheffler isn't just playing golf at an elite level — he's winning. The pro is up to five wins already in 2024, and June is not yet over. His tear has him on the cusp of history. Only two other golfers have ever won six times in one season with two of those being majors: Nick Price in 1994 and Tigers Woods in 2000, 2005, and 2006.
One major is already checked off, as Scheffler won the green jacket at the masters for the second time in three years. Now, he has a chance to join the exclusive group with a victory at the U.S. Open.

Scottie Scheffler wins 2024
Scheffler could not be hotter coming into the U.S. Open. The World No. 1 golfer has already won five events of the PGA Tour this year, and all have come since March.
It started with a victory in March at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where Scheffler won in dominant fashion, shooting 15-under par to beat Wyndham Clark by five strokes. The very next week, Scheffler narrowly defeated Clark and Brian Harman at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
After finishing tied for second at the Texas Children's Houston Open, Scheffler got right back in the win column with his second victory at the winners, earning the green jacket for 2024. He wasted little time celebrating, as he went out the next weekend and finished first at RBC Heritage.
His last win came his last time on the course. Last weekend, Scheffler secured his fifth victory of the season at The Memorial Tournament. It marked the first win for Scheffler since the birth of his child.
