Before Tiger Woods traveled to Augusta for the 2023 Masters, he gained a business partner: Angels star Mike Trout.
Trout announced a week before the Masters that he and Woods, with the help of Woods' golf course design firm, are teaming up to build a course near Trout's hometown in New Jersey.

"Trout National — The Reserve" is set to open in Vineland, N.J., in 2025, about seven miles from where Trout grew up.
We promised you all a big announcement and here it is! We are so excited to be able to make a longtime dream of mine a reality, with none other than @tigerwoods and @tgrdesignbytw. We can't wait to share more updates with you as we create Trout National - The Reserve. pic.twitter.com/V8eMGEUYdS

“I love South Jersey and I love golf, so creating Trout National — The Reserve is a dream come true," Trout said in a press release, adding, "It’s just incredible to think that this project has grown to where we’re going to be working with someone many consider the greatest and most influential golfer of all time."
Trout has never shied away from his New Jersey roots, and the creation of Trout National is an opportunity for the three-time MVP to leave a lasting mark on the community.

According to Trout, he and Woods are planning to put their stamp on the course. "This will not be your grandparents’ country club," Trout said.
Trout is no stranger to golf. While he has played his share of 18-hole rounds, his best golf highlight came in 2020 when he hit an absolute moonshot at Topgolf. For anyone who has seen Trout effortlessly hit a baseball, the distance wasn't too shocking.

While Trout has plenty of name recognition in New Jersey, Woods' name is certain to bring attention to the project. The golf icon began his own course design firm in 2006 and consolidated all of his business ventures under the TGR name in 2016. Thus, TGR Design was born.
