The best golfers in the world will once again gather at the Augusta National Golf Club for the most prestigious golf major in the PGA Tour. That includes the return of one of the sport's most iconic figures.

Anticipation for the 2022 Masters Tournament grew several magnitudes on Tuesday when Tiger Woods announced he would be playing in the tournament just over a year after he was involved in a major car crash that required months of rehab for his legs.

With the tournament slated to begin on Thursday night (AEST), the Masters has already released its groups and tee times for the first round. Woods will tee off at 12:34 a.m. AEST along with Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann.

As for the main Australian contenders, No. 1 hope Cameron Smith will be first off in the 12:23am group, followed by Adam Scott at 12:56am and Marc Leishman at 2:57am.

While last year's champion, Hideki Matsuyama, will tee off at 12:45am along with Justin Thomas and amateur James Piot.

The 2022 Masters is certain to deliver plenty of excitement for golf fans beyond just the return of Woods to the course. The Sporting News has you covered with everything you need to know about the tee times on Thursday and Friday, including featured groups, tee times and more.
