Lucas Herbert, Adrian Meronk defect to LIV Golf
Herbert will link up with fellow Aussie Cameron Smith on the LIV tour, joining his 'Ripper' team.
The 28-year-old from Bendigo has one PGA Tour win – a 2021 triumph in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship – and three European Tour wins.
"I’m very excited to team up with Cam on the all-Aussie Ripper GC squad this season," Herbert said.
"This is an incredible opportunity, and I can’t wait to begin this part of my career.
"I’m looking forward to teeing it up this week in Mayakoba and of course playing in front of our home country crowd in Adelaide in a few months."
Meronk, the European 2023 tour player of the year, will join Martin Kaymer's 'Cleeks' team.
Two wildcard players have also been announced for the upcoming season, separate to the 13 existing teams of four.
Hudson Swafford and Laurie Canter will play independently as part of a 54-player field.
Lucas Herbert career earnings, prize money
Herbert has accumulated a total of US$4,201,054 (AU$6,407,514) in tournament prize money, per Spotrac.
