The 2022 U.S. Open has made for some frustrating play this week, with The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., embarrassing some of the top golfers in the world.

That is especially true for world No. 544 Grayson Murray, who needed to advance through three qualifiers simply to be among the U.S. Open field this year. He has struggled mightily through four days of play, currently sitting in last place at 18 over following a 10-over Round 4.

Murray's frustrations finally boiled over in the final round. He heaved his club into the fescue following a triple bogey on Hole 7:

Murray's emotion got the better of him again on Hole 10, when he snapped his driver after hitting his ball into the rough between two sandbanks:

Professional golfers: They're just like us!

Murray's frustrations were part of a day in which he double-bogeyed on Holes 7 and 9 and bogeyed on Holes 2, 10, 11 and 13. He's far from the only golfer to have been frustrated by The Country Club this week, however.

Only 10 golfers will start the fourth round at even par or better, while 11 are at least 10 over par (including Murray). Other golfers who made the cut yet continue to struggle are Brooks Koepka (+9), Bryson DeChambeau (+12) and Patrick Reed (+10), among others.

While this is certainly a tough outing for Murray, perhaps he can find solace in the very talented company he's keeping at the bottom of the leaderboard.
