Bryson DeChambeau has been one of the best golfers in the world during the 2024 season. He has been out of sight, out of mind for some while playing on the LIV Golf tour, but he has reminded fans of his brilliance at majors.
DeChambeau tied for sixth at the Masters before finishing second at the PGA Championship. He was just one stroke off Xander Schauffele's lead at the latter event but couldn't quite do enough to take home the Wanamaker Trophy.
Fast forward to the U.S. Open, and DeChambeau is once again contending. He enters Sunday's final round of play with a three-stroke lead over Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Matthieu Pavon as he seeks a win at Pinehurst No. 2.
Will DeChambeau be able to hold onto that substantial lead? DeChambeau has shown poise at majors and with good reason. He has a title to his name and will add another to the fold if he finishes strong at Pinehurst.

Has Bryson DeChambeau won a major?
DeChambeau has won one major championship: the 2020 U.S. Open.
To this point, he's come up short in the other three majors, though he's finished in the top 10 at all of the others, the Masters (T6th in 2024), the PGA Championship (2nd in 2024) and The Open Championship (T8th in 2022).
When was the last time Bryson DeChambeau won a major?
DeChambeau's most recent and only major win came in the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot.
DeChambeau entered the final round of the 2020 U.S. Open two strokes off the lead, but he shot a 67 on what was otherwise a challenging day on the course for the rest of the leaderboard. While the rest of the top six finishers at the event recorded at least five bogeys in the final round, DeChambeau only had one.
The 2020 U.S. Open was played in September due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had no fans, so DeChambeau is still seeking his first major victory in front of a crowd.

Has Bryson DeChambeau won the U.S. Open?
DeChambeau has won the U.S. Open before. He did so at Winged Foot in 2020 and has generally fared well at the championship. He has made seven consecutive cuts at the event dating back to 2018 and has only missed the cut twice in 10 appearances despite the event being one of golf's most difficult.
DeChambeau is poised to earn his best finish at the 2024 U.S. Open since his win at Winged Foot. He has finished no better than a tie for 20th place in his last three appearances at the major.
Even if DeChambeau can't hold onto his three-stroke lead, he should be a top-10 shoo-in. Just eight players entered play Sunday with under-par scores for the tournament and DeChambeau shot 7 under over the first three rounds of the tournament.

DeChambeau is heavily favored to win the 2024 U.S. Open entering the final day of play. He will almost certainly finishing within the top 10 and doesn't seem likely to fall out of the top five either.
If DeChambeau can win a second U.S. Open, he would become the 23rd player to win the event multiple times during his career. He would notably tie his rival, Brooks Koepka, on that list.
