Brooks Koepka won four major championships, all coming when LIV Golf was still just a concept. In May, he won a fifth, when he secured the PGA Championship.
Koepka flirted with a green jacket at the Masters in April, but he saw a two-stroke lead slip away in the final round. At the Oak Hill Country Club, though, he sealed the deal, taking his fifth major championship and giving the rebel golf tour its first major champion.

In 2022, Koepka created some controversy when he decided to leave the PGA Tour for LIV Golf, and the upstart league paid handsomely to get him on its side. With the PGA Championship victory, they may be making some of that money back — at least in name value.
Here's what you need to know about Koepka's LIV Golf contract, as well as his success on the LIV Golf circuit:
Brooks Koepka LIV Golf contract
While LIV Golf never formally announced the details of Koepka's contract, multiple reports indicate he was given a $100 million bonus to join the controversial league. That's reportedly the same figure Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau received to join LIV Golf, while Phil Mickelson reportedly earned a $200 million signing bonus.
Koepka's deal runs through 2025, as Sports Illustrated reported LIV Golfers would be required to pay back "two, three or four times" their signing bonuses to get out of their contracts and return to the PGA Tour before 2025. That means Koepka would need to fork over hundreds of millions if he wanted to get out of the deal in the next three years.
Koepka also earned more than $8 million in prize money from LIV Golf events in 2022.

Brooks Koepka LIV Golf wins
Koepka has earned two solo victories as a member of LIV Golf, winning in a playoff over Peter Uihlein in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2022 and picking up a victory in Orlando in April. He is to date one of only three repeat winners on the LIV Golf tour, the other two being Johnson and Talor Gooch.
Of course, one of the main draws of the LIV Golf tour is the money that come with each victory. LIV Golf rewards its top golfers handsomely, with the top earning individual taking home $4 million per victory. Koepka made $12.97 million in just the first three LIV Golf events — not including his tournaments on the PGA Tour.
Here is a look at both LIV Golf wins for Koepka:
Year | Event | Score (To par) |
2022 | LIV Golf Invitational Jeddah | -12 |
2023 | LIV Golf Orlando | -15 |
Koepka's best round was his first round in both events. That's the opposite of what's happened at the PGA Championship, where he shot a 72 in the opening round before soaring up the leaderboard in the second and third rounds.
What happened in Sunday's fourth round — which LIV Golf events don't have — went a long way toward determining Koepka's legacy, and giving LIV a bit more credibility in the process.
