It was Ferrari's Carlos Sainz who finally ended Red Bull and Max Verstappen's dominance last time out in Singapore.

After winning the ten prior races in succession, the Dutch driver had set the record for longest winning streak in the sport's history but few would have predicted the downfall that his team would have at Marina Bay.

Not only did Verstappen himself miss Q3 but teammate Sergio Perez also suffered the same fate as the Austrian constructor's dominance went up in smoke with Sainz on hand to ultimately take the chequered flag on race day.

A return to Suzuka should suit both Verstappen and Red Bull though, especially as he secured his World Drivers' Championship title at this track last year.

The chasing pack remains closer however as seen in Singapore and the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix is likely to be a much closer run event than prior races that we've seen this season so far.

For the race's start time this weekend and all the TV channel and streaming information you'll need, The Sporting News has you covered.
