A hotly anticipated Formula 1-themed film featuring Hollywood star Brad Pitt is gradually nearing its release.
The movie was the centre of attention at last year's British Grand Prix, with filming taking place on-track at Silverstone.
Production is still ongoing, but an official release date has now been confirmed. The Sporting News has all the details.

Brad Pitt F1 film release date: Racing movie to hit the big screen in 2025
The Joseph Kosinski-directed film – made by Apple Original Films in collaboration with F1 – will be out in cinemas next year.
An official statement has revealed an international release date of June 25, 2025, with the movie to be released in North America on June 27, 2025.
"The movie is a landmark for the sport and cinema, filmed in real-time during grands prix around the world and involving the Formula 1 community, including all 10 teams, the drivers, the FIA and race promoters," the statement read.
"The new feature film is set in the exhilarating and cinematic world of Formula 1 and will immerse audiences in the spectacle of the most popular annual sports series, celebrating the skill and heroism of the drivers while showcasing the incredible challenge of competition in Formula 1."
Pitt will star in the film as a former driver returning to F1 alongside a rookie teammate, played by Damson Idris.
The duo will race for 'APXGP' – a fictional team added to the grid.
Other notable actors involved in the film include Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.
"We’ve got a really great and diverse cast. [Director Joseph Kosinski]'s focus is to make us as embedded in this sport as possible," F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, who is a producer and consultant for the film, told media at last year's Miami Grand Prix.
"For me, it’s to make sure it’s authentic, and that all of you and racing fans see its authenticity and say, ‘This is believable’ and have a view of racing from a different perspective than you might see on TV.
"I’m spending a lot of time right now helping Joe and the team get the script right, it’s an amazing process and I’m really enjoying it."
Will Brad Pitt film at any F1 races in 2024?
With production of the movie ongoing, Pitt and the greater cast will continue to film at various grand prix weekends.
On-track filming is set to resume at the British Grand Prix in July, before it wraps up at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.
Like he did at Silverstone last year, Pitt will drive an adapted F2 car and will be on the track only when it is empty between sessions.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali spoke about the "invasive" nature of the filming in 2023 but believes the motorsport series will be able to manage it.
"It will be quite invasive in terms of production, it’s something that we need to control in a way. But it will be another way of showing that F1 never stops."
Brad Pitt F1 movie title
