The 2024 European Championship final was hosted in Berlin at the Olympiastadion.
Home to Hertha BSC, it's an iconic venue in Europe which holds a rich history dating back to its use as the stage for the 1936 Olympic Games. The stadium's blue track became the setting for Usain Bolt's record-breaking 100m and 200m sprints during the 2009 World Championships.
Serving as Germany's capital since the reunification in 1990, Berlin stands out as one of the nation's most diverse destinations. Amid a wealth of history and culture, key tourist highlights encompass the iconic Brandenburg Gate and the towering 368-meter TV tower, which provides panoramic views from its observation deck.
It was the largest arena during the tournament and it has hosted every German Cup final since 1985 as well as matches on both the continental and international levels. Berlin was the host city for the 2006 World Cup final, featuring Italy and France. In 2015, the Olympiastadion Berlin also witnessed Barcelona's triumph over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League final.
