Cardiff City and Millwall were also Championship sides beaten away to Premier League opposition, falling at the expense of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
It means Preston North End remain as the lone non-Premier League representative, having claimed Lancashire bragging rights with a 3-0 win over Burnley. Bournemouth needed penalties to see off Wolves, while Brighton beat Newcastle 2-1 in extra time.

When is the FA Cup quarterfinal draw?
The draw for the FA Cup quarterfinals took place on Sunday, March 2 after the conclusion of the Manchester United vs. Fulham match at Old Trafford.
At the time of the draw, there was still one quarterfinal left to be played, with Nottingham Forest hosting Ispwich on Monday, March 3.
