The Matildas get their 2024 Olympics campaign underway against a Germany side with a point to prove.

The Germans were one of the favourites at last year's World Cup but crashed out in the group stages for the first time as the Matildas made the semi-finals on home soil.

Australia will be under big scrutiny, as they face a major tournament without leader Sam Kerr, and with other questions hanging over the team and coach Tony Gustavsson.
