Mexico take on the United States as they go head-to-head for a spot in the CONCACAF Nations League final.
USA won the inaugural edition of the competition back in 2021, beating Mexico 3-2 after extra time. This time they meet one round earlier, with the winner facing either Canada or Panama in the final.
El Tri topped a group featuring Jamaica and Suriname to reach the semifinal, while USA pipped El Salvador and Grenada to top spot in Group D. Neither country lost during the group phase.

What happens of USA vs Mexico ends in a tie?
Unlike group matches, the semifinal cannot end in a draw as it is a straight knockout match and not a two-legged tie. All four knockout matches will be played in the same venue — Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
According to section 12.8 of the CONCACAF Nations League rules, if both teams are tied at the end of regular time during the knockout stage, extra time will be played. If the score is tied at the end of extra time the matches will go straight to spot-kicks, per the Laws of the Game.
Four of the last five meetings between USA and Mexico have ended as a draw after 90 minutes of action, meaning extra time is a likely possibility in this match.
What rules apply to extra time?
If the match goes to extra time, each team will have an extra 30 minutes to win the game before it goes to a penalty shootout. It consists of two 15-minute halves, with a short break in between for managers to have a team talk.
Section 12.8 of the CONCACAF Nations League rules state that if extra time is to be played, each team will have the option to make one additional substitution, bringing the total up to six changes throughout the 120 minutes of football.
