Both Aaron Mooy and Mat Ryan got their first taste of EPL action on Saturday night with Mooy's Huddersfield picking up a surprise 3-0 win over Crystal Palace while Ryan's Brighton and Hove Albion side went down 2-0 to title favourites Manchester City.
On the back of being voted Huddersfield's player of the season, Mooy picked up where he left off in the Championship as he pulled the strings in midfield for the Terriers.
The former A-League player featured for the entire 90 minutes picking up one assist, making 41 passes and completing seven crosses as his side pulled off an upset against Palace.
It wasn't such smooth sailing for Ryan who was always going to face a tough time in goals against City.
Despite being beaten twice, including an unflattering own goal he could have done better with, the 25-year-old did pull off three solid saves and certainly didn't look out of his depth.
Elsewhere, last year's champions Chelsea fell to a shock 3-2 defeat to Burnley with the Blues reduced to nine men as they started their title defense with a stutter.
Check out the highlights both Mooy's and Ryan's games in the videos above.
