For those unimpressed with the lacklustre AFL action on tonight, the A-League has just thrown its hat into the ring as a viable alternative with plenty of feeling between Adelaide United  and Melbourne City.

While the seagulls may outnumber the City fans in attendance, those chip-loving birds have been treated to a fracas with intensity that hasn’t been seen in any of the footy codes in years.

Watch the video above for the blow-by-blow encounter.

Thanks to the cameraman – who clearly went to the A Current Affair School Of Shooting On The Run – we didn’t miss a thing.

United currently lead 2-0 thanks to this free kick masterclass from Isaias

And a controversial penalty from City keeper Thomas Sorensen, taking out Stefan Mauk, with Bruce Djite doing the business from the spot to extend the lead in stoppage time.
