When you think classic football shirts, immediately the mind drifts to Umbro, who have been kitting out football teams for over 100 years.

2024 marks a new era for the brand, which has relaunched in Australia as one of the hardest streetwear labels, producing a new line of clothing that steps way outside the football pitch.

High fashion isn't new for Umbro, with the Manchester-born brand previously striking collabs with fashion brands over the years, including Virgil Abloh’s Off-White, Vetements, Aries, Palaceand Supreme, and now their new centenary collection is bringing the football x fashion fusion to the next level.

With the new collection now available in Australia, here's our ranking of the top 5 pieces from the range:

1. Reversible Ramsey Jacket

Two jackets for the price of one? Say less.

An updated look on a 1960s Umbro classic, the Reversible Ramsey Jacket gives you two different looks with the primary outer a monogram blue, but the other side is where the party starts.

The reverse of the jacket is emblazoned with red/white/blue diamond graphic gradient — essentially the athletic version of Will Smith's Fresh Prince of Bel Air blazer.

A must cop.

2. Sunday Football long sleeve

Long sleeve jerseys > short sleeve jerseys. This is just science.

This is close to the favourite piece from the new collection, paying homage to the long-sleeve merchants of football's golden era. Shoutout David Beckham circa 1999.

Inspired by the football kits of the '70s and '80s, the Sunday Football jersey's thick white cuff and retro collar gives a fresh look to a vintage silhouette.

3. Panelled Windbreaker

Sticking with the red/white/blue diamond graphic gradient, the windbreaker fuses together a vintage look with a modern functionality.

If you're trying to standout, this jacket is a statement.

4. Linear print jersey

Available in blue and green, this jersey gives a simplistic yet detailed design for both on and off the pitch.

The intricate Umbro text pinstripe, matched with the flat collar and V insert brings an old school look to a new era.

Classic.

5. Infilled tape tee

Keep it simple.

Harking back to the golden years of Umbro kits in the '90s with the logo sleeve, the tape tee is a basic wardrobe essential.
