Sydney FC and A-League Men head coach Steve Corica have parted ways, effective immediately.
It brings a 19-year relationship between Corica and the Sky Blues to an end — a club he has been involved with as a player and coach since their inception in 2005.
The 50-year-old made 106 appearances for Sydney FC before transitioning into management in 2010, earning the head coach role in 2018.
He led the club to a grand final win in his maiden season — one of four trophies he won as coach.
"The Sydney FC board has made the decision to move in a new direction," Sydney FC chairman Scott Barlow said in a statement on Tuesday morning.
"Steve is a legend of our club and has made an incredible contribution as both a player and coach over our 19-year history.
"He is a true gentleman who has always put Sydney FC first and I would like to personally thank him for all he has done."
Corica departs following a disappointing start to the current A-League Men season, with Sydney suffering three defeats in their opening three matches and failing to score a single goal.
"It is very difficult to depart Sydney FC after being here for such a long time but I leave with unbelievable memories," Corica said.
"There are so many people to thank but most of all I would like to thank all my amazing staff and players as well as the Sydney FC members and fans.
"I could never have imagined that when I set foot into this brand, new club in 2005, I would go on to spend the next 19 years of my life here.
"I will always look back on my time with Sydney FC with incredible fondness."
Assistant coach David Zdrilic will run training for the time being, with no indication of when a new permanent head coach will be named.
