Australia have their fate in their own hands when they face Denmark in their final group stage match at the 2022 World Cup.

The Socceroos know that a win would guarantee their progression to the knockout rounds for the first time since 2006, whilst a draw will also be enough if Tunisia fail to defeat defending champions France.

Despite the Socceroos coming off a high after their 1-0 victory over Tunisia, they are still outsiders to qualify over a Denmark side that is packed with quality. The Danes will be keen to put in a better performance than they did in their 2-1 defeat to France and secure a win that would see them leapfrog Australia into the knockout rounds.

The game is taking place in the early hours of Thursday morning at 2:00 a.m. AEDT, here are all the details on how to catch the match on TV in Australia.

What channel is Australia vs. Denmark on?

  • TV channel: SBS

Like every other 2022 World Cup match, this game is available on free-to-air TV channel, SBS.

Veteran Aussie commentator David Basheer will be commentating the match alongside former Socceroo Harry Kewell. The latter is a newcomer to the commentary box, but his passion and honest analysis has been met with praise by Australian football fans.

The SBS coverage of the Australia vs. Tunisia match was also a huge hit ratings wise, with a massive 1.34 million people tuning in, no doubt helped by the friendly kickoff time of 9:00 p.m. AEDT on a Saturday night. We may see lower numbers on Thursday morning due to the awkward kickoff time, but the high stakes should mean that many all over the country will tune in to cheer the boys home to a round of 16 spot.
