Martin Boyle has signed a deal with Saudia Arabian club Al-Faisaly, bringing his time with Hibernian FC to an end.

The 28-year-old has been with the Scottish Premiership club since 2015, scoring 65 goals in 265 appearances.

His performances earned him a call-up to the Socceroos squad in 2018 where he has remained a regular contributor to the national team since.

According to Hibernian's official confirmation, Boyle's transfer to the Middle East was completed for a 'significant' seven-figure fee.

In a message to his now-former club's fans, the forward explained that it was not an easy decision to move away.

“It wasn’t a decision made overnight; it’s been going on for a few weeks,” Boyle said.

“Ultimately, I think it was the right thing to do for family reasons and personal reasons as well.

"I think it’s opening up to a new adventure with myself.

“I’ve been honest with the club, and we’ve had a great relationship since I came in.

“It was a hard decision, but one I’m comfortable making for me and my family.

“There’s no bridges burned, and I walk away in good spirits.

“From the moment I walked through the door I had a smile on my face; it’s been fantastic."

Boyle was named in the Socceroos’ latest squad for their next two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, with Australia to face Vietnam on Thursday.

He has scored five goals in the 12 appearances for the national team.
