The silky striker is dominating the world game at the moment having recently been nominated for FIFA Player of the Year and while a self-confessed AFL fan, Kerr isn't thinking about a potential code switch any time soon.

"There's no chance, there's no money that can buy the sort of experience I've had with the Matildas," Kerr told Fox Sports ahead of the Matildas clash with Brazil.

"I think moving forward we'll be one of the best sporting teams in the nation and the world.

"I wish the AFL all the best, and I've always said I'll support them, but I'm staying put for now."

A sibling of former West Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr, Sam has her sights set firmly on football and has no immediate intentions to follow in her brother's footsteps.

"My brother's a huge football fan and I think he'd be more angry at me for leaving if I did," Kerr said.

"I love AFL, my family has grown up with AFL, they've only just moved to the football world.

"I obviously support AFL but soccer is my life now.

"It's given me so much.

"I've given up so much to be here and there's no way any sort of money can buy an Olympic experience, a World Cup experience, otherwise thousands of people would be doing it."

At just 24 years of age, Kerr has already played over 50 games for the Matildas and won the Julie Dolan Medal for W-League player of the season in 2016/17.
